Helianthus, Lemon Queen : An old perennial sunflower with reliable performance. Tall clumps are topped with bright yellow sunflowers.
We have this bold beauty planted in large clumps along our veranda and sun gardens at Fordhook Farm. Every new visitor that walks through invariably asks, What is that? I want it! The ultimate low-maintenance showstopper, with stalks that quickly shoot to 8 feet and launch rockets of lemon yellow 2-inch blooms for three solid months. Just plant in full sun and stand back.
