Dark-purple, almost black leaves are crowned with creamy-white airy panicles.
Coral bells, coral bells! ‘Obsidian’ casts a spell in the border with dark-purple, almost black leaves in late spring to early summer appear petite, delicate, creamy-white flowers borne in open, airy panicles on slender 20-24” stems. Lobed, rounded, petioled leaves form a 8-10”-tall compact basal mound. Dark foliage has the knack of adding depth and dimension to perennial bed. Does best in part- to full sun in rich, humusy, moderately moist, well-drained soil.
