Shenandoah Panicum Grass

Commonly called Red Switch Grass, Panicum Shenandoah is valued primarily for its red summer/fall foliage. Slender blade leaves develop red tips in spring soon after growth starts. In summer they turn fully to red, and in fall the color deepens to a rich burgundy shade topped by pink flowers. Growth is to 3-1/2 to 5 feet. Plant habit is a mound of semi-arching foliage. Medium growth rate.
