Named after Parris Island, SC, this heirloom variety bred by the USDA and Clemson University was introduced in 1952. The sweet flavor and crisp texture have earned it a devoted following. Growing to about 10-12″ tall, the large heads have deep green leaves that turn to a creamy yellowish-white at the heart. Highly disease resistant.
